up the wooden hills

sometimes i found some really lovely things while i'm stumbling around the internet. one of them being this small label, up the wooden hills. swedish and handmade from liberty cotton prints, these dresses are exactly what i would love to be wearing all the time. so simple and pretty. the styling for their collection is amazing. they could have easily came from any era.
according to their website, they wanted to create the right recipe, "one might even say the right algorithm, for making a comfortable and functional dress to ride trains and swings in without getting the side-effects of a straitjacket grip caused by too tight seams and a stiff shape. And – we wanted it to be pretty. The final result is the “Emilia dress”. Available in four different Liberty print fabrics. Suitable for wearing while jumping in and out of buses as well as lying flaton the back in the grass."

  1. I LOVE these photos! I actually have quite a few of these saved for inspiration, such loveliness! I love how simple the dresses are and you're right; they do look like they've come from any era, and they are so versatile that would be perfect for any season dressed up or down.

  4. I stumbled across those dresses a little while ago too. I think even more than the dresses themselves, the photos just succeed in creating a perfect--and perfectly desirable--atmosphere!

  6. I came across them a while back and you are very evil for reminding me of these. ;) I would totally live in a dress like this. The oversized cut, print and cute cuffed sleeves.. only the price is a little out of my league right now. Sooo pretty though :)

Have you checked out the designer's blog?
