as someone who occasionally puts vintage clothes on etsy, i have piles and heaps of clothes. i've gotten pretty terrible at updating that thing, even though i REALLY REALLY want to. but instead, i've taken to going through it and trying on clothes i bought for spare change and seeing if they fit me now, months later. and a lot of them do. i had bought this shirt a few months ago, and i decided to wash a few handfuls of vintage, and i randomly tried this one on. and now it's mine forever. because it's awesome. it goes quite well with the skirt i refuse to take off.
since both my machines are broken, i've reverted back to sewing by hand. it's nice, and comforting, and i can take things with me, but i still miss the quickness in which my machine can operate. things that take me an hour, would have only taken me a minute on my sewing machine. and it also means, that i can't finish the resizing of other vintage clothes that i wanted to. hard knock life, obviously.
details:
shirt: thrifted

You look stunning. I swear, outfits like this motivate me to go thrifting and to search for separates (something I'm terrible at). I also maintain that you've got one of the best figures, ever.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in this outfit! It looks super comfortable, but super girly too! I am in love with that skirt. You have the best skirts!
ReplyDeleteOh this is perfect! Love the boy scout shirt and your clarks :)

I have quite the same problem as you, keeping clothes I plan to sell hoping they'll fit me later! But it always pays off, right?
ReplyDeleteYou look darling! I'm diggin the shirt.
xoxo Mama wolf.

ReplyDeleteall i want to do is go find my husband's old boy scout uniform (he was a skinny little 17 year old) and wear it now. i LOVE this on you. and i love your blog. and your glasses. and lip color. i'm so totally smitten with you and this outfit!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! I adore this outfit O_O (though i imagine i'll have a hard time trying to recreate it in stormy england at the minute! Jumpers, thermals and vests are all we're permitted heh)
ReplyDeleteOhhh hard knock life indeed! Sewing by hand is tricky and trying, i find it comforting sometimes though :) (saying that sometimes after a ten attempts to get the thread through the needle i have a strop and flounce off haha)
Your blog is dreamy!xxxx
I love sewing by hand. I'm not terribly good at it but there's something relaxing about it. Like you really feel very in control of everything, haha :-D. Wonderful outfit, the shirt with the skirt and boots is definitely something I would wear too. And your hair is just enviable!
ReplyDeletelove this vintage camping look, so cute and so flattering on your great figure too! i am the worst at piling up thrifted goods too and keep meaning to pull out my bin. too bad we're not neighbors and i'd loan you my machine I always mean to get to but never do.
