hands down

breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep.
remember dashboard confessional? now that i listen to his voice, it is awfully whiny and not in a tolerable way at all anymore. but hands down, is a great song still.
my birthday was yesterday! i will have some photos coming from that real soon. my old friend javi came to visit me, and we did brunch, and some minor exploring of sacramento. then i went and ate late night pizza with the few friends i have here. the boy i like is in oregon, but i can't wait until he gets back!
sometimes i try to do something different with what i wear. then i hate it. i don't think this shirt is going to stay in my wardrobe any longer, but that's what this blog is good for. i can see how things look on me, and know when to get rid of them. i've been cleansing my closet a lot. first when tiara was here, and again to create a 'shop my closet' blog shop! i've only got a few pieces in there, but i have a good handful more to go still. hopefully i'll get to doing that later tonight. also! i finally got a new sewing machine (those who follow me on instagram know this). i thrifted it for $30, and it works very well. so i've been throwing some new tampon pouches together. i'm just happy to be able to create things again. work has been slowing down (ending of the season) and i don't think i'll have it much longer at all.

details:
shirt: thrifted
shorts: thrifted
shoes: payless

for those who don't recall.

  2. Happy belated birthday, Bethany!! :)

I think that is an awesome plaid shirt! But I understand if you're just not feeling it anymore.
I think right around the time I started blogging, I also realized the urgent need to clean my closet out on a regular basis. It's always a relief to look at my clothes and be happy about getting dressed rather than dread looking at pieces I don't wear anymore.

  6. the SECOND i read the title i was like 'this is the best day i can ever remember'

ahhh yes dashboard. the original one on so impossible EP was the shit because it was all acoustic and cutesy. also, have you ever played the emo game. it's wildly inappropriate, just an FYI, but his special power is magic ovaries.

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! mmmm i love going out with friends on birthdays.

and i started to create a blog shop too, and i need to launch it. it's mostly pants because i don't wear pants so why am i holding onto them? and this is a cute shirt - but i definitely have items that just don't feel like 'me' too. or that i think might work and don't.

and your sunday school shoes. love them. always.

  7. Happy Birthday!

I used to listen to Dashboard all the time when I was in high school. I even got to see him open for some punk band at CBGBs before that closed down. Its a guilty pleasure, but somtimes I like to put him on in the car and scream along.

  15. You couldn't be more right about Dashboard Confessional. Hands Down is the only song I can still listen to anymore, but only if it's the demo or EP (?) version. I remember not liking the radio cut as much...

THIS OUTFIT. Gah. It's so great. I've been living in shirts and shorts all summer.

And, I'm very late, but Happy belated Birthday :)
